Parent Meeting

Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 6:30pm in the Middle School Auditorium

Every year, our eighth grade students travel to Frost Valley. Frost Valley is a YMCA Camp located in Claryville, NY. Claryville is just north of Liberty and lies in the Catskill Mountains. Our students leave from Sayville Middle School at 6:00 a.m. and arrive at Frost Valley around 10:00 a.m. At Frost Valley, our students will be assigned to a cabin where they will sleep for two nights. They will receive three meals a day in the dining hall and participate in adventurous activities on the grounds of the camp. Activities include adventure hikes, orienteering, rope courses, castle tours, and outdoor survival skills. They will also participate in evening activities facilitated by the Frost Valley Staff and our teachers. 
 

The Frost Valley trip is designed for students to participate in activities with students other than their friends. We want our students to think outside the box and challenge themselves to do things they may have never done before. It is a great opportunity for character building and bonding with classmates in an environment different from Sayville. The trip is a great opportunity for our students to make new friends and gives our staff an opportunity to experience being around our students in a different environment.

 

Permission slips can be brought to the information meeting.
Please be sure to have all permission slips submitted by November 13, 2024.
