Chromebook Policy
Chromebook Policy
The chromebooks are a wonderful asset to our educational program. However, there are some students who do not utilize them properly during class, and get distracted. For this reason, we will be enforcing the following consequences in class.
-
Students must only visit sites that they have been instructed to be on. If a student has any other programs or tabs open, other than what they have been directed to open, that student will have their chromebook taken away for the class period. This means that they will need to complete all of their work using pencil and paper.
-
At the beginning of the period all students are expected to open their homework on their chromebooks. If after five minutes a student still does not have their homework open they will not get credit for completing their homework, and they must attend 11th period to earn half of their points back. (This consequence will not apply if there is an obvious technical issue.)
-
All students are expected to come to school with a charged Chromebook. Some students rely on being able to plug their Chromebooks in during class. This is a distraction. If a student comes to school without charging their Chromebook, they will lose points on their preparation grade.
-
Students should also bring their chargers to school. If their Chromebook needs to be charged, and they do not have their charger, they will need to complete all of their work using pencil and paper, and will be expected to transfer their work to their chromebook on their own time. Students will also lose points on their preparation grade.
We hope that these measures will help to keep all students focused in class and teach them to use their Chromebooks responsibly.
