Lost in the Sun by Lisa Graff
As Trent Zimmerman struggles to move past a traumatic event that took place several months earlier, he befriends class outcast Fallon Little, who helps him understand that he can move on
Student review
This book is good, but it wasn't a book I wanted to read all the time. The one thing that really annoyed me was that there was a cliffhanger ending. It wouldn't had annoyed me as much, but this was the one thing I wanted to know from the first page. I am pretty sure that there isn't a sequel, but I might be wrong
So Done by Paula Chase
When best friends Metai and Jamila are reunited after a summer apart, their friendship threatens to combust from the pressure of secrets, middle school, and looming auditions for a potentially life-changing new talented-and-gifted program.
Student review
SO Done was a great book, but may not be the best for a slower reader. There are some mature themes so if you don’t think you can handle it it may not be the best to read. Although overall for me it was a great book.

Student review

I LOVED this book! This was a great heartwarming story about a girl who has just started middle schoo. She is a very shy girl but ends up making some great, new friends at her new school.

Absoutely Almost by Lisa Graff
Ten-year-old Albie has never been the smartest, tallest, best at gym, greatest artist, or most musical in his class, as his parents keep reminding him, but new nanny Calista helps him uncover his strengths and take pride in himself.
Student review
This book was very interesting and was easy to read and it had something happening each chapter. It was a little hard to keep up, but once you did, it was amazing. It is good if you are a slow reader, but it didn't really have a plot to it.

Ten-year-old Auggie Pullman, who was born with extreme facial abnormalities and was not expected to survive, goes from being home-schooled to entering fifth grade at a private middle school in Manhattan, which entails enduring the taunting and fear of his classmates as he struggles to be seen as just another student.
Student reviews
I like this book because it showed me how kind people can be. Especially to someone who is going through an extremely hard time.
It was a good story, but it got kind of boring in the middle of the book.It was pretty good, but it is a long book and slow at some points
